Born in Arusha, Tanzania, Gideon Leonard Mawenya has dedicated his journey to uplifting communities and showcasing the country’s beauty. His path began in grassroots work, where he managed Amani Children’s Home and contributed to the early development of the Amani Initiative—supporting child protection and family reunification for vulnerable children.
These experiences shaped Gideon’s belief that true progress happens when people, businesses, and communities grow together. Inspired by this vision, he founded Africano Paraíso—a travel company built on the idea that journeys should be more than sightseeing. Every safari is designed to blend wildlife adventures with cultural immersion, responsible tourism, and meaningful connections that benefit local families and preserve Tanzania’s heritage.
