Lake Manyara National Park is the breathtaking scenery, well decorated with more than 400 species of birds, and famous for it’s tree climbing lion and soda ash lake.

The wild animal found here range from big number of elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck and warthog to small dik-dik. Brocken forests and escarpment provide habitat to the leopard.

Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you'll depart from your hotel for Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara National Park is one of the beautiful Park colored with more than 400 species of birds, which makes it the perfect photographer’s playground and the best game viewing in the world. Most Africa’s well-known animals can be found here. The most admiring unique event is “tree-climbing lion”.

Bird-watchers will find Lake Manyara is an absolute delight, with a huge variety of birds on display in the park. Even the novice can expect to be amazed by large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the brightly coloured lilac breasted roller.

In the afternoon, you'll head back to Arusha.

When to Visit?

The park can be accessed throughout the year. However, June to October is the best time for large mammals and November to July is ideal time for bird watching.

There are three bush meals sites in the park namely; Msasa Picnic site, Majimoto picnic site and Endalla picnic sites.

How to get there

The park is located in Northern Tanzania, 126 km west of Arusha town along the Makuyuni-Ngorongoro road, strategically located along the high way to Ngorongoro and Serengeti and is easily accessible by road and air (charter or scheduled flights).
