5:00am: Departure from Arusha or Karatu

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or Karatu and you'll embark on a scenic 3-4 hour drive to Lake Eyasi. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to admire the stunning landscapes of the African savannah and see local communities going about their daily lives.


8:00-9:00 am: Arrival at Lake Eyasi and visit to Hadzabe village

Upon arrival at Lake Eyasi, you'll meet your local guide who will take you to visit the Hadzabe village. The Hadzabe are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa, and they have a unique way of life that has remained largely unchanged for thousands of years. Your guide will introduce you to the tribe members and provide you with insights into their culture and way of life. You'll also have the opportunity to learn some basic phrases in the Hadzabe language.


9:00-10:30 am: Morning hunting expedition with the Hadzabe tribe

This is the perfect time to participate in a morning hunting expedition with the Hadzabe tribe. You'll accompany the tribe members as they use their traditional hunting techniques to gather food from the forest. This is a truly unique and unforgettable experience that will give you a rare insight into the lives of the Hadzabe.


10:30-11:30 am: Learning about the Hadzabe culture and way of life

After the hunting expedition, you'll have some time to learn more about the Hadzabe culture and their unique way of life. Your guide will explain how the tribe uses natural resources to make clothing, jewelry, and other items, and you'll have the opportunity to observe their daily routines.


12:30-1:00 pm: Visit to Datoga village

After lunch, you'll head to the Datoga village. The Datoga are known for their pastoral way of life, and your guide will take you to visit a traditional village where you can see how they raise their cattle, sheep, and goats. You'll learn about their traditional houses made of mud and cow dung, and see how they use natural resources to make clothing and other items. You may even have the opportunity to try milking a cow!


1:00-3:00 pm: Insights into Datoga culture and way of life

Your guide will provide you with insights into the Datoga culture and way of life, and you'll have the chance to interact with the locals and ask questions. You'll also have the opportunity to purchase handmade crafts and other souvenirs, which directly support the local communities.


3:00-4:00 pm: Free time for interacting with locals and purchasing souvenirs

After exploring the Datoga village, you'll have some free time to interact with the locals or purchase handmade crafts and souvenirs.

Finally, you'll depart from Lake Eyasi and make the journey back to your hotel in Arusha or Karatu. Along the way, you can reflect on the incredible experiences you had and the amazing people you met during your day trip to Lake Eyasi.
